Cat Dale is a screenwriter based in Denver, Colorado. Raised in the mountains of Northern Idaho, she always stays close to her Western roots. Much of her inspiration comes from the beautiful landscapes of the Rocky Mountains, their history, and the characters who live in them. Before she took the plunge into screenwriting, she studied archaeology and worked on excavations around the world, including

African Slave sites on St. Kitts in the West Indies, Roman Outposts in Transylvanian Romania, as well as closer to a home on Native American sites for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. Once her Indiana Jones dreams had been fulfilled, she headed down to Austin, TX to study Screenwriting at UT. Now focusing on feature films and TV pilots, she continues to write as well as teach at the University of Colorado in Denver.

Recent projects include her Dramatic Series, MOUNT PLEASANT, which was a finalist for the Seed&Spark Fellowship at the Stowe Story Labs, was a Semifinalist for the International Screenwriting Association's FastTrack Fellowship, the Screencraft Jamaica Writer's Residency, and WeScreenplay's Diverse Voices contest. The script has also been on The Black List's TOP LISTS for 2017.

A review of the script on The Black List:

"This is an utterly evocative, deeply compelling story following a young, Native American female protagonist searching for her brother while confronting a people who want to erase her identity. The writer weaves a complex, nuanced narrative with built-in cinematic potential worthy of a series."

In addition, her feature film, BEASTS UNDISCOVERED, which she co-wrote and is currently producing, won 3rd place at the Vail Film Festival and was a Semifinalist at the Seattle Film Festival.

She has written six feature films, three TV Pilots, had three short films produced, directed several documentaries, worked in the graphics department for TLC original pilot Cyberstalkers, & written and produced over 20 commercial videos for brands such as Xsories, Kammok, Backcountry, Transamerica, SolarWinds, Rol Wheels, Sylvan Learning, and Novauri Bit Coin. Her photographic works have also been published in magazines such as Carbon Copy, Woodwork Magazine, and seen on CNN.com & the Wilderness Society’s Top 25 “We are Wild” photograph series.
