Pamela Weng began playing the piano at age four and describes her life as a musical journey ever since! She holds a Master’s degree in Humanities from the University of Colorado at Denver (1997), where she teaches, US Music: Social/Political Impacts. She also operates Nuance Piano Studio, a private studio in Evergreen, Colorado. In creating her Master’s thesis, she combined her love for art with her love for music by recording and producing a CD of "sound paintings" entitled Earthtones. The recording also features the talents of acclaimed Colorado musicians Drew Morell, Ted Reece, Calvin Standing Bear and Larry Thompson.
Earthtones II was released in 2008. It is an eclectic celebration of world music, including “Tangorine” - an original Tango, Native American “SkySuite”, “Portuguese Passion”, “Outback Ochre” – an aboriginal song-line, and “African Amber” – a framing for a poem about the Spirituals. You can hear this album on Pandora. She is currently working on a new spiritual musical called Into the Night, & Colorado Concertos.
Pamela also works as music director at Unity on the Avenue and accompanies for the Evergreen Children’s Chorale.
