Innovative program gives CU Denver students real-world experience -- and some cash
Lark, CU Denver’s premier vocal ensemble, broke through in a big international way this summer. How big? Well, the group was showered with confetti in the Seoul airport after claiming yet another singing competition.
About Us

Ranked as one of the top music business programs in the country by Billboard, the Department of Music and Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) lives up to its name with state-of-the-art recording studios, private teaching studios, and cutting-edge technology. This department is designed to prepare students for a variety of alternative careers in the arts and entertainment industries through its intense focus on commercial music styles.

Our students have access to:

  • Five state-of-the-art recording studios
  • 16-station piano lab the most up to date applications.
  • 12 student practice suites.

King Academic & Performing Arts Center  – 500-seat concert hall, 200-seat recital hall and multiple production studios.

MEIS offers a Bachelor of Science in Music with four emphasis areas: Performance, Singer/Songwriter, Music Business and Recording Arts. In addition we offer a Master of Science in Recording Arts or one with an emphasis in Media Forensics.
