Mission statement

Interim Director Smith with Sam McGuire, graduate facultythe studioMedia forensics is the investigative application of scientific methods aiding the criminal and civil justice systems with regards to audio, video, and computer evidence. The National Center for Media Forensics (NCMF) is a center of the University of Colorado Denver dedicated to fostering cutting edge innovation in media forensics with the development of new knowledge, applications, methodologies, and services through research and education.

Goals

The three major goals of the NCMF are:

  • To develop new methods and technologies addressing the ever changing needs of law enforcement and the fight against crime;
  • To serve as a primary site for a world-class Master’s of Science in Recording Arts with emphasis in Media Forensics degree program;
  • To provide training to law enforcement and related communities for professional development.
